American Red Cross Learn-to-Swim Lessons are available at our three facilities. Year around at Nampa Rec Center or at Lakeview Water Park and Lincoln Pool during the summer. Sessions run Monday through Thursday for two weeks during the summer and meet Monday and Wednesday or Tuesday and Thursday in four week blocks for the rest of the year. Classes are 30 minutes in length and offered in the morning, afternoon and early evening depending on season and location. Download our Red Cross Swim Levels (PDF) for more information about our different levels. Click here to register for classes or at the Recreation Center Program Desk.
Unsure of what level your child should be placed in? Sign your child up for a 10 minute skills evaluation with a certified instructor who will recommend an appropriate level. Cost is free for member or $3 without a membership. Register online or at the Recreation Center Program Desk.
We offer Private and Semi-Private lessons. Our private lessons provide one on one attention providing optimum learning opportunity and catered to a person's individual needs. Our semi-private lessons provide more individualized attention. Participants must provide both students of the semi-private class. Participants similar in age and/or ability will be most beneficial and catered to the person's needs. Click here to register online or at the Recreation Center Program Desk.
Our Adaptive Swim Lesson Program is for children and adults with special needs that may not be met through traditional swim lessons. The goal of this program is to provide students with a structured aquatic experience designed to make them feel comfortable and safe while swimming. Adapted Lessons are booked in blocks of four or eight and run for 30 minutes per-class. Pricing is the same as generally offered private, semi-private and group lessons.
If interested, fill out an Adaptive Lesson Request form (PDF), also available at the Recreation Center program desk.
