More… The principal function of an employee in this class is to ensure patron safety within the pool center at the Harward Recreation Center facility. An employee in this classification must maintain their Lifeguard certification through the American Red Cross. In addition, the employee must maintain certifications in First Aid and CPR. An employee at this level is qualified to work as a lifeguard. The above certifications do not qualify an employee to act as a swimming lesson instructor or a Head Guard. The work is performed under the supervision and direction of an assigned supervisor, but some leeway is granted for the exercise of independent judgment and initiative.
